Welcome to one of my favorite spots along the Columbia River waterfront in Vancouver, WA. It’s one of those places where you can step away from the busyness of the day while still being close to everything the city has to offer.
This stretch of riverfront offers incredible views, beautiful walkable paths, and a refreshing atmosphere that makes it feel like a beach town right inside the city.
And the best part is that it’s just minutes from Portland, OR and a short drive to Portland International Airport, which makes it an easy place to meet clients, enjoy a meal, or simply take a moment to reset.
A Beach Town Feel in the Heart of the City
Nestled along the Columbia River, this area truly feels like a beach town within the city. Scenic pathways invite you to walk, bike, and spend time outdoors while enjoying views of the water and the surrounding landscape.
It’s the kind of place where people gather with friends, enjoy the fresh air, and take advantage of the natural beauty that makes the Pacific Northwest so special.
Even though it feels peaceful and tucked away, you’re still just a quick trip across the bridge to Portland, OR and close to all the amenities Vancouver, WA has to offer.
Dining with a View
The waterfront here is also home to some wonderful dining spots that locals love.
McMenamins on the Columbia and Oswego Grill at Columbia Shores both offer beautiful views of the river and welcoming spaces where people gather to enjoy good food and great company.
There’s something special about sitting by the water, watching boats pass by on the Columbia River, and feeling that mix of relaxation and community energy that this area brings.
Coffee Connections and Community
One of my favorite things about this area is using it as a place to meet people and strengthen relationships.
Recently, I had a Coffee Connection with a wonderful client named Lisa at a charming café along Highway 14 with a river view that’s hard to beat.
Lisa is one of those people who simply lights up a room. Her smile and positive energy make every conversation meaningful, and spending time catching up with her always reminds me why relationships matter so much in real estate.
I first met Lisa when I helped her in-laws through a meaningful transition into assisted living. Being able to support families during important life moments like that is something I care deeply about, and those connections often turn into lasting friendships.
Waterfront Homes Along the Columbia River
This area is also home to a beautiful riverfront community known as The Village at Columbia Shores.
Many of the condos and townhomes here offer incredible views of the Columbia River along with easy access to the Renaissance Trail, a scenic walking and biking path that runs right along the waterfront.
Living here offers a unique balance of nature and city access. You can enjoy peaceful river views, outdoor recreation, and a walkable environment while still being close to downtown Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR.
For people who enjoy being near the water and staying connected to the community, it’s a truly special setting.
Celebrating People Who Make Our Community Better
Moments like my coffee meeting with Lisa remind me why I love highlighting the people, places, and businesses that make our communities stronger.
Whether it’s a favorite local restaurant, a beautiful place along the river, or someone who brings positivity and kindness to others, these are the stories that make Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR such meaningful places to live.
If you know someone, somewhere, or something that’s making a difference in our community, I would love to hear about it. Those are the stories worth sharing.
